Key performance indicators must be developed as part of an environmental monitoring system. The performance variables should be indicators of possible success in acheiving long-range outcomes. Also, criteria or standards must be established to decide when the strategy must be changed. Performance feedback should help determine if goals and objectives are feasible. Performance monitoring results are used as input for the next planning cycle and review. A strategy monitoring system is usually custom-designed for an individual company. |
