Social Responsibility
The term social responsibility refers to situations where managers of an organization perform activities that protect and improve society beyond the extent required to serve the direct economic and technical interests of the organization. The term refers to a "company’s obligation to be sensitive to the needs of all of the stakeholders in its business operations. (Wikipedia)" According to Ethics in Action, "Socially responsible companies consider the full scope of their impact on communities and the environment when making decisions, balancing the needs of stakeholders with their need to make a profit."
