Process Flowchart

A visual drawing of the steps and activities in a process. Process activities are diagrammed as rectangular boxes and arrows connect activities to show the flow of control. A process flowchart can help document existing processes and/or help design new processes. A high-level process flowchart describes all of the core processes in an organization. A narrower scope, more focused chart is termed a low-level or detail chart. Some alternate terms used for this basic idea are: flowchart, functional flow chart, process map, process chart, functional process chart, business process model, process model, process flow diagram, work flow diagram, business flow diagram.
