Demander view Social Responsibility
Managers must act in a socially responsible manner. There is an "iron law of responsibility" which states that the social responsibility of managers must balance and be proportionate to the economic power of the firm. The public expects managers to act in a socially responsible way. Managers are ethically obligated to act in a socially responsible way. Corporations have the power and resources and therefore must act. So regardless of the "good" the firm has done, it should continue to use its resources for social ends. |
